How to Mark a Candidate as Completed

Once a candidate's reference checks are done and a decision has been made, there's no need to keep their profile sitting in your active candidate list. Righteo lets you mark a candidate profile as Completed, either as Passed & Completed or Failed & Completed, so your list only shows the candidates you're still actively working on. Here's how to do it.
Why Mark a Candidate as Completed
Marking a candidate as Completed keeps your candidate list focused on live, in-progress checks instead of cluttered with candidates whose reference checks have already been resolved. It also gives your team a clear, at-a-glance record of the outcome, Passed or Failed, without needing to reopen every referee report.
How to Mark as Completed: Passed or Failed
1. Go to the Candidate Profile
From the left-hand menu, select Candidates, then open the profile of the candidate whose reference checks have been finalized. This brings up the candidate's overview, including their contact details, referee count, and managing consultant.
2. Check the Status of the Submitted Reference Check
Before marking a candidate as Completed, review each referee's report and confirm the status, Passed, Failed, or Incomplete, shown against every referee. This helps you decide whether the candidate as a whole should be marked as Passed & Completed or Failed & Completed.
3. Update the Marked Status
On the Candidate Profile, find the Marked Status field and click the pencil icon next to it. A small menu appears with two options: Mark as Passed and Mark as Failed. Choose the option that reflects the candidate's overall outcome.
4. Confirm the Change
A confirmation prompt will ask you to confirm, for example, “Are you sure you want to make this one pass & complete?” Click Yes, Continue to confirm the status, or Close to cancel. Once confirmed, the candidate's Marked Status updates immediately on their profile.

Final Thoughts
Marking a candidate as Completed is the last step in wrapping up a reference check. By reviewing each referee's status before making the call, and confirming whether the outcome is Passed & Completed or Failed & Completed, you keep your candidate list clean and give your team a reliable record of every decision made.
