How to Manually Request Referee Details

Before a reference check can begin, you need referee contact details for each candidate. Rather than chasing this information down yourself, Righteo lets you send candidates a simple request so they can submit their referees' details directly, from mobile or web, in just a few minutes. Here's how to send one.

1. Open the Candidates Section

Go to the Candidates section on the left sidebar menu. You'll see every candidate listed, along with how many referee requests and assessments have been requested and received for each one.

2. Select the Candidate

Click on the candidate you want to request referee details from to open their Candidate Profile. From here, go to the Referees tab, where you can start or manage their reference check.

3. Request Referee Details

Click the three dots on the right side of the screen to open the options menu, then select Request Referee Details. The menu also gives you a few related options:

• Request Referee Details – send a form asking the candidate to submit their referees' contact information.
• Send Reminder (Request Referees) – nudge a candidate who hasn't responded yet.

• Edit Candidate – update the candidate's profile details.
• Delete – remove the candidate from Righteo.

4. Confirm and Send the Request

A pop-up confirmation box will appear. It shows when the request was last sent (or Never if this is the first time) and explains that an email will go out asking the candidate for referee details, which they can fill out and send straight back. Click Request Referee to confirm and send, or Cancel to close the dialog without sending.
