Navigate Billing Settings

Righteo runs on a pay-as-you-go (PAYG) billing model, so understanding your balance, top-ups, and payment methods helps you stay in control of your account instead of being caught off guard mid-check. From updating your subscription plan, purchasing credits, adding payment methods, and accessing your billing history, this guide covers everything you need to simplify your billing management.
Navigate to the Settings panel then click on the Billing tab. This page is where you'd manage the Righteo account balance, payment methods, and view your transaction history.
Current Balance
At the top of the Billing page, Righteo displays your available account balance at a glance. Because Righteo operates on a pay-as-you-go model, your balance is drawn down each time a reference check or assessment is completed. Three figures are shown here, and the exact labels displayed change based on the credits you've purchased:
• Total Balance: Your current usable balance across all funds added to your account.
• Added Balance: The amount of manually topped-up funds currently in your account. This displays “No expiry,” meaning these funds do not expire.
• Free Balance: The amount given by Righteo for free. This balance is drawn down first and may carry an expiry date.
If you do not have any saved cards in the system, your payment method will indicate that you will pay from a new card.
Topping Up Your Balance
When your balance is running low, you can add funds manually at any time.
1. Click Top-up Balance.
2. Enter the amount you'd like to add. Your new balance updates in real time so you can see exactly where you'll land.
3. Check that the correct payment method is selected.
4. Click Top-up Balance to confirm.
Note: Righteo requires a minimum account balance of $50. If your balance is below this, the top-up screen will show you the minimum amount needed to meet this requirement. Once processed, the top-up will appear in your Billing History and your balance will update immediately.
Setting Up Auto Recharge
Auto recharge lets Righteo automatically top up your balance when it drops below an amount you choose, so you never run out of credit mid-process.
Turning On Auto Recharge
5. Click Auto Recharge Settings.
6. Toggle Enable auto recharge on.
7. In the When balance reaches field, enter the amount that should trigger a top-up (for example, $10).
8. In the Recharge my balance to field, enter the balance you'd like to reach after the top-up (for example, $50). Righteo will automatically charge your card for the difference.
9. Click Save.
Example: If your trigger is $10 and your target is $50, Righteo will add $40 to your account whenever your balance hits $10.
Setting a Monthly Recharge Limit
If you'd like to cap how much is auto-recharged each month, toggle on Monthly recharge limit and enter your preferred maximum. Auto recharge will pause for the rest of the month once this limit is reached. The maximum allowed is $5,000, but you can set a lower amount if preferred.
To turn off auto recharge, return to Auto Recharge Settings, toggle Enable auto recharge off, then click Save.
Managing Payment Methods
Your saved card is shown on the right side of the Billing page under Payment Method. This is the card that will be charged when you top up manually or when auto recharge is triggered.
Adding a New Card
10. Click + Add Another Card.
11. Enter your card number, expiry date, CVC, and the name on the card.
12. Fill in your billing address.
13. Click Add Card.
Your new card will be saved and available to select when topping up. To update or remove a saved card, click the pencil icon on the card you'd like to change.
Billing History
The Billing History table gives you a full record of every transaction on your account, including top-ups, charges, refunds, and bonus credits. Each transaction shows:
• Invoice ID: Click the copy icon next to it to copy the ID to your clipboard.
• Description: A summary of what the transaction was for.
• Payment Type: The card used, if applicable. Charges will show a dash, as they deduct from your account balance rather than charging your card directly.
• Transaction Type: The category of the transaction (see the table below).
• Payment Date: The date the transaction took place.
• Amount: Credits are shown in green; deductions are shown in red.
• Status: The current state of the transaction.
